Registering Edge Codes with Test Reports through AMECA.

Is this your first-time submitting friction material through AMECA?

If so, please contact us first here at support@ameca.org to see if your company ID is available.

Manufacturer Testing

After a manufacturer has completed testing at either:

  • Link Engineering OR
  • Another lab and has already previously certified the edge codes with another registrar (NSF), but wants to start using AMECA as their new registrar for new edge code registration;

Before Certification

Then before certification can occur, AMECA must be authorized to:

  • Receive the new test reports directly from Link Engineering
  • Assess the new report and relay all authorized information to California and Washington State as per the law
  • Use the new report for self-certification OR the pre-existing self-certification report from another registrar (NSF) to reference historical data for the new self-certification and signed affidavit

The process to begin submitting edge codes using new reports is as follows:

Manufacturer creates a Manufacturer User Account on the AMECA Web Portal. Initial user must submit to the User Agreement.

AMECA sends AMECA Web Portal User and Digital Signature Authorization Agreement to the manufacturer and it must be completed by the appropriate officer(s) of the company and returned to AMECA signed and dated. This form will authorize the user(s) in the Manufacturer User Account on the AMECA Web Portal to serve as an admin on that account, submit edge codes and request the release of test reports, and make edits to edge code and test report submission information. It also gives AMECA the authority to request the reports from the lab and the edge codes to be registered.

Manufacturer User(s) submit edge codes and requests the related test reports from the lab. Each submission must be digitally signed by the user authorizing AMECA to proceed.

AMECA requests the test reports from the third-party lab through the web portal.

AMECA reviews the results compared to the California and Washington State requirements.

AMECA submits the self-certification document to the Manufacturer with the new edge codes, in the web portal.

Manufacturer completes and digitally signs the self-certification form through the web portal.

AMECA finishes the registration process, approves the completed self-certification document, and then publicly posts the required information.
